Welcome to the 2025 Exhibition: Celebrating a Vibrant Community

This year we will be looking at the roles of our community organisations and the impact made by scores of volunteers to our wonderfully vibrant community.

This year we are highlighting the numerous community groups that create a real impact across our parish. We are proud to have a vibrant community that supports an extensive programme of communal activities and social groups for all ages, from music to sport, to religion, heritage to young people activities, as well as coastal pursuits and charity events. We are lucky to have facilities such as a well-equipped memorial hall; our beautiful natural landscape; and both indoor and outdoor sports amenities that enable us to host a variety of events and activities throughout the year.

Volunteers make a huge contribution to the vibrancy of our community that resonates across our parish; their commitment and hard work ensures that we have a fantastically rich community life which should be celebrated.

For a small population, Gerrans Parish manages to pack in the community groups. This latest exhibition covers thirty or so groups currently active in the village with pen pictures and illustrations, including St Anthony's Noyse , the Community Larder, the Harbour Users Group and many more. Not forgetting the array of competitive activities seen on the cricket and rugby fields, in the regatta and the annual horticultural show.

Over the years groups have grown and morphed as the community’s needs have changed, and the exhibition celebrates the evolution of the groups, the diverse interests of a thriving parish, the amazing voluntary forces behind the scenes and, of course, the people of Gerrans Parish who support and participate in these activities.
